Mira was scooped with her mother and 13 siblings, 15 days old, from a puppy mill in the U.S. Mira was the only survivor, so was named Mira, short for ‘Miracle’. She was adopted but then surrendered to a rescue group at one year old, emaciated and in poor health. We adopted Mira at one and a half years old and brought her here to Comox. At first I called her ‘my white ghost’, but then I realized she was the lone survivor of her family – Mira was a survivor! She gained weight and confidence. Mira had a gentle, loving disposition and a great capacity for joy. She loved all people and dogs, as well as car rides, walks in the forest, and food. Mira has been a huge presence in our family for 9 years, leaving a gaping space. Thankfully we have many photos and videos to remember our beautiful Mira.
